Corporate Social Responsiblity

Wherever we are, our priority is to contribute positively to the local community by means of encouraging our employees to share their expertise in helping people through a variety of corporate social responsibility initiatives or to volunteer in support of charitable causes.

The CNI Foundation is established to channel a portion of our profit to uphold our corporate social responsibility and support various charitable activities. Our cause is categorised into 5 main divisions, with some examples of our major projects/programmes as below:

National & International Disaster Relief Projects

  • 2004 Tsunami cash contribution for victims in India, Indonesia and Malaysia besides providing humanitarian aid for victims in Aceh via CNI Care convoy.
  • Donated 40 tonnes of food and goods to refugees during a humanitarian mission to Afghanistan
  • Donated cash to Myanmar Cyclone Nargis Relief Fund and Sichuan Earthquake Relief Fund
  • Provided humanitarian aid to flood victims in separate occasions in Malaysia and Thailand
  • Provided humanitarian aid to victims as well as expertise to rebuild schools affected by the Yogyakarta earthquake
  • Raised RM50,000.00 funds for the Iraq refugees.
  • Collected 6 containers old clothes for Bosnia and Vietnam refugees. It has been awarded in the Malaysia Book of Records with the “ largest Collections of Old Clothes for Refugees “ awards.
  • Donated RM10,000 for the Gaza Relief Fund via the Malaysian Government to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza.

 

Community Service Projects

  • Conducted Community Care Project by rendering free health screening service and health talk at urban and rural community of Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore to enhance the public`s health awareness.
  • Donated 100 units of WaterLife Filter System to charity homes in Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore
  • “Wishing Tree” joint campaign with Sin Chew Daily to fulfil the wishes of 112 physically challenged individuals
  • Provided humanitarian aid to famine victims in Mataram
  • Rural Development Programme that provided financial aid and knowledge assistance in areas of education, health care, agriculture and animal husbandry to the community of Desa Cileuksa Bogor

Education & Training Projects

  • Single Parent Family Programme, an ongoing programme to provide career development programmes, workshops, scholarships and the likes for single parents and their children.
  • Children Education Incentive, an annual cash incentive given to all school-going children of our members who achieve academic excellence
  • 5-year education cash sponsorship given to native children in Sabah settlement

Arts & Cultural Exchange Projects

  • 2012 Zhejiang Chinese Orchestra Concert to promote multicultural harmony in Malaysia
  • Organized 2009 “An Evening Of Chinese Rhapsodies ” with Singapore Dunman High School Orchestra Charity Concert.
  • Organized 2004 The Legend of Liu San Jie Musical Drama Cultural Event
  • Co-organized Yellow River Choir with Malaysia local major media in 2003.
  • Co-organised the 2002 World Dragon & Lion Dance Championship.

National Awareness & Health Care Projects

  • Health Awareness Campaign, an ongoing campaign to create healthcare awareness in the community via free workshop, seminars and health consultation with Mobile Health Centre facility
  • Joint charity campaign with Ministry of Health Malaysia for medical officers against SARS disease
  • Assigning medical officers and providing free medicines to communities in Indonesia as part of an ongoing project.
  • Organised a Blood Donation Campaign in collaboration with the National Blood Bank of Malaysia that made its way into the Mlaysia Book of Records for”The Most number of Women Blood Donors”
  • Donated three units of ambulance to the Red Cross of Indonesia as well as regular blood donation drive in that country
